Asphalt milling services are frequently used in preparation for an asphalt overlay to the existing surface. Over time, parking lot pavements may breakdown, and the top layer of asphalt may deteriorate. This can cause uneven integration of the asphalt at the concrete gutters, sidewalks, valley gutters, or other structures. The asphalt is typically milled down one and a half inches to two inches. The millings are removed and transported to a recycling facility, and fresh asphalt is placed and compacted using asphalt binder to adhere the two layers together.
